Hi, My husband loves the Progresso version of this soup. If I were making it from scratch I probably would: add Italian seasoning, salt and pepper black, and for a small kick a pablano. I love mushrooms so it would need about 1/2 cup. Hope this sparks some ideas. Please send your final version
