I am not sure where to look to get an idea of why everything is
"dumbed down" to just "imap".
I'd appreci

problem, pop3d-ssl connections have $(service) as merely pop3.
Can anyone please comment on why that would happen? Grumble grumble
Cheers!

Hrm, that's not quite what I wanted to hear. ;)

All,
Wondering if this has been looked at lately. I get slightly different
side effects, wherein the select clause seems to simply be ignored, but
nevertheless, it might be the same problem. I suppose I can take a look
at the code, not that I have the time, but if someone wants to point me
to
Darron and others,
Thanks to your kind help, I was able to nail down getting Macintosh
Outlook Express to communicate with my TLS-enabled Postfix/CourierIMAP
servers. However, recently one of my users added a new email account to
their Outlook Express and is getting a seemingly anomalous error
Still haven't had any luck and no responses here =(
I'd very much appreciate any insight.
Cheers,
Paul.

Might some kind soul be able to suggest why I cannot get regular pop3d
on port 110 to run UNencrypted whilst pop3d-ssl runs encrypted on port
995???
I have triple-checked the relevant config files (and restarted all
services) but have come up empty. Any attempts to even connect on port
110 do NO
Greets,
Many smooth months running Courier-IMAP. No complaints. I am
grateful!
The problem: pop3d on port 110 is being encrypted. It needs to be
Unencrypted.
Until now, we've been running only pop3d-ssl and imapd-ssl (and imapd
only on localhost), but we need to start offering pop3d to
edHat mysql RPMs installed before, but in the end, I went with all of
them just to save the headache, and the mysql piece went in without
a hitch.

Hello all,
Trying to install courier-imap on a fresh RH7.3 machine, with a fresh install
of openSSL9.0.3 I get this error:

configure: warning:
Cheers! That's the answer I was looking for (although nothing has been
broken until I tried to install courier; even finicky postifx doesn't
seem to mind the packages I have installed... hmmm)

Hmm yes, you also have the server rpm I see. Again, I read that the
configure script has a workaround when it is not available, and that
the only thing used from that rpm is the mysql_config script. But it's
starting to look like that's the easy way out...
Checking my system as you suggest:

support...? If not, I'm
not sure what my problem might be - surely not the capitalization
of "MySQL..."???

but elsewhere I read that that is not the actual problem...
Thanks for further advice (I'm going to bed for now ;>)

Hello all,
I have spent several hours diagnosing this error to no avail. I have found a
few previous messages about the same problem, and the suggested fixes either
don't work, or the person with the problem didn't report back how they fixed the
problem. At this late hour, my frustration leve
