I would like to have a nicely functioning conference room with
telephone and or video conferencing. The room will have 10 chairs.
Any suggestions on hardware/software is appreciated. Any comments on
bandwidth needs to operate this along with up to 10 co-workers is also
appreciated.
thanks

Rob,
We got a Polycom phone for our main conference room because it seemed like
the thing to do. We saved money buying it used on eBay but more and more I
notice folks don't use it all that much. The room is too echoey I think.
We don't pay too much for the line as we got a deal with our ISP
Just a hint for echoes...Buy some large plants and stick them along the edge of
the room, it's amazing how it cuts down on the echo...but be careful, they also
offer great hiding places for ninjas.

I have to echo (no pun intended) Jacob's advice. I bought the phone and
it's just not used that much. We use our wireless speaker for conference
calls (over voip) more than the Polycom. I wouldn't invest in retrospect.

I would slightly agree. We have that Polycom phone as well (3 mentions in one
day from our group! Polycom, like that free advertising?) but it does get used
regularly. Not everyday, but enough that I wouldn't NOT have it. In addition,
we just got a great video collaboration tool from

Hey all! I introduced myself a while ago and have enjoyed keeping up
with with the posts. Network, a coworking spot is coming along nicely
and we are looking at a mid-Jan. opening day here in Longmont, CO!
These are the steps I've taken so far (please feel free to point out
any oversights!)
Hey Jes
Congrats on your progress so far... in the home stretch now.
My personal opinion the topic of chairs... Yes, i think you are quite right
to put careful thought into this item, and if there are areas in your
budgeting that you consider splurging I think this is one. Many reasons...
Hi All,
Does anyone have any data on generally what percentage of coworking
places offer any childcare inside or adjacent to the space?
Felicity at http://www.cubesandcrayons.com has shared in a few threads
already, and has a great thing going - I hope it spreads.

Just when I thought all was lost (I had even wanted to just pack it in in
October)...the past few weeks had seen maybe 10 solid inquires, and
yesterday I rented one of the private rooms (the other private room is
reserved, so it too will be rented in Jan), and signed up one full-time
coworker!
Nice!! Congrats Mike, glad things are turning around. I've got good feelings
about 2011!
