I have also heard reports of this impacting MM games:
"I am trying to join the game that MM has found me, and once my game is
launched and tries to connect I am getting the message, 'You can only connect
to this server from a lobby'. Any ideas?"

This issue was a result of an incorrectly set LD_LIBRARY_PATH. If anyone else
is experiencing this issue either correctly set LD_LIBRARY_PATH or make sure
you're using srcds_run.

This issue appears to only affect servers with workshop collection arguments in
the commandline. Additionally, changing the map seems to fix the problem.
If you’re having this issue, try changelevel.

altPUG experienced this for a while post-arms deal update. Were were able to
isolate this issue to clients opening the game and connecting to altPUG servers
via the steam /connect/ URI handler. steam://connect/serverip:port

some difference between community servers and MM servers; perhaps a new
server var? I haven't had a chance to look into it or perform another cvar
We also experienced this issue on all of our servers today and had to
restart srcds to resolve the issue.
