I would love to know how you figured this out. I never would have been able
to determine that the .hide class was the cause. Thank you very much for
your help. I have been cleaning up my code across the site and I sincerely

.hide {
display: none;
}
...but I have not encountered this bug-version before so I have no idea
why. (IE/win behaves in mysterious way
