Howard,
Thanks for your detailed reply. I had pretty much already stated
everything I was going to say - and I think addressed all the points
you've raied - but since you went to some effort to write so much I
think you deserve some further explanatory comment, though I've probably

We need much more information, including the server and client os, the
CVSROOT being used (eg: :pserver:host/repo), the ACLMode (as set in
CVSROOT/config), the permissions on the repo
Just wanted to add some feedback and maybe ask a few questions. Keep in
mind I'm thinking from the perspective of a small team of 4-10 people
working with perhaps 20-25 cvsnt repositories. I accidentally only sent
this to Tony so I am sending to the list now, with some edits to
portions that

You don't use it in a way that triggers brokeness.

I am trying to grant a user permissions to create a sub-directories
under on a branch using the following ACL and CVS is not allowing the
operation. I had submitted something similar in regard to creating new
files on a branch back in early October, and have since resolved that
issue, but I am sti

The office in Manchester...
We respond to questions posted on cvsnt-dev but most of our daily
chatter is done over the desk (or over the phone when I'm out of the
country).
There seems to be no recent messages at all on the cvsnt-dev or
evs-dev groups...
Has activity moved elsewhere?
I tried to update my old cvsnt sandbox but got an access denied using
my account that used to allow commits when I was more active.
Now it seems like I am not even allowed update access.

It looks it does not work. I get the message anyway.

Those using VS or Eclipse - which are not the only development environments
on the planet... and I am afraid our IDE is going to target Subversion.

Thanks all on your feedback about the advertising in the commit messages.
I have created a new FAQ to make it clearer how to disable this:

Let me also take this opportunity to clear up some issues raised in this
thread:

I´v checked at the source and a new option (-M) of commit has been

Here's one (just run cvs - H commit)

Hi,
just to say that I agree completely with Luigi.
You should go proprietary, if you are no longer satified with open source
model.
Thanks

Recently I have set up a CVSNT server with pserver authentication. Everything

when trying to connect.

I have to agree with posters on both sides of the discussion.

of the last release just to get the ebook. I'm not getting paid to say
