1) cygwin has been running on my WinXP machine as a charm until I
installed phpEdit software few days ago. After I installed this software when I
try to run the program by executing (double clicking the icon) cygwin.bat
instead of cygwin this newly installed program phpEdit starts to run.
If I'm not mistaken, phpEdit defined itself as the default program for
.bat files. To check, open a Windows Explorer (not internet explorer,
select Tools then Folder Options, go to the File Types tab and look for
the .BAT extension. It probably is se to open with phpEdit. I think if
