Shut down darktable. Open your config file
(~/.config/darktable/darktablerc). Look for 'opacity' and 'density'.
plugins/darkroom/masks/opacity=1.00
plugins/darkroom/masks/brush/density=1.00
plugins/darkroom/spots/brush_density=1.00
I think the last of those is what you're looking for;

I am using the windows 3.4.1.1 build and my default opacity is 100%
and the Ctrl+Scroll function is working fine.

I am pretty sure that a couple of upgrades ago, my scroll + CTRL control
had a default of 100% opacity - hey if you want to touch out a blemish
you want it to go. My opacity in Darktable 3.4.0 is set at 5% default
which means that I have to scroll up to 100% on every mark. How do I
