I get the same message, that is from the shadows and highlights module. Usually
when you see the message you can just wait a few minutes and it will then say
the image was exported. In my experience the JPEG is fine.

Are you sure that your RAF files are read ok? My HS30EXR RAF files are read
approx 1000 pixels less vertical and horizontal than the from camera JPEG files.

Why not then, just import, stick the card back in the camera and then format
the card. IMO that is better than deleting using the computer. You never know
what hidden files might be put on your card by your OS.

I myself have used the colour zones quite a bit, it is very useful. As for the
blendif, I have never used that, will have to try it sometime.

I should have mentioned, the reason I suggested exporting as TIFF or PNG is for
quality. JPEG compression can degrade the picture.

Short of installing the unstable version of Darktable (to get masks) the Gimp
is probably your best bet. Just export as either a TIFF or PNG. As for UFRaw, I
really haven't played with it much, but it appears to lack a lot of features
found in Darktable. Once the masks make it to the stable rele

I have been following this thread with great interest and would love to share
my input on any future pictures. I'm still fairly new to Darktable, been using
it a few months now, but this could be some good practice while helping.

Hi there
You might want to check you bios/cmos and see how much memory is allocated for

I just updated Darktable to v 1.3+292 and now I can't figure out how to apply
masks on various modules. Previously there was an option in most of the modules
for mask, now it appears to be missing. I can make the masks, but can't seem to
use them.

I agree with what you are saying. The benefit of these conversations is to give
the devs some feedback from their users. Also it can help some users learn a
bit about why things are the way they are.

I too was unaware, until the recent Feature Request thread, that the order of
the modules in the right panels had any meaning. The only tab that I was able
to see the order being in order of application was the "Active Modules" tab
since it was modules that I used.
