what i don't understand is why dbmail-lmtpd crashs once each day
around the same time, even if i restart it at 3:00 AM, in case of
imap/pop3 that could be a scheduled client always doing the same
bad thing but hardly for LMTP
dbmail-utils runs at a completly different time
frankly i guess i

Hi Curtis,
I'm quite sure it's not the size of the mailbox. I've got a few servers
using dbmail for years, and the largest mailbox yet holds about 60GB of
mail. The other ones ranging from about one GB up to about 35GB.
I'm using postfix (2.11 stable) + dbmail (3.1.13) + MariaDB (5.5.34) +

I've just noticed that imap search has never worked. The last time I had
find a message, I went into the source code to look up the query. When I
ran it, it timed out. So I then looked at the schema and wrote my own
query, which worked very quckly.
I got dbmail-deliver to work. dbmail-lmtpd
virtual machine disappeared on me today. I've spent most of the day
trying to get it going again. It's my main mail server and the big problem
that I'm having is with lmtp. I'm running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and I've tried
dbamil 3.1.13 and 3.1.8 and both are giving me different errors.
on 3.1.13,
I then went to install dbmail-smtp and lo and behold the executable is
never built. I can't win.

It gets even worse. I try to use dbmail-deliver (assuming that's what
dbmail-smtp is). I'm currently showing 10 active connections all
consuming a ton of CPU. The database is not hosted on the same server. I
then check on the database server and it shows all of the dbmail
connections (about
recompiled 3.1.13 and the dbmail-deliver worked...rather well. I'm
starting to wonder if it has something to do with the size of my mailbox.
It is rather large (GB's). I know searches in there have been timing out
for quite some time.
