Today I checked all DX8 and DX9 ATI card entries from the pci.lst
which should be supported by ati driver. I found only 2 things, one
entry with radeon instead of ati and one missing card (X850). Just
apply the patch. Otherwise the xorg detection is ok now - has much
more cards than
Additionally:
In section C.4.1 and/or C.4.3 it should be mentioned that you want to
mount partions destined to become /usr, /var, etc to /mnt/debinst/usr,
/mnt/debinst/var, etc before running debootstrap on /mnt/debinst.
If you don't do this the result is wrong and you have to move the file
Additionally:
C.4.4.5. Configure Locales

base-config
And the lilo.conf, in C.4.6. Set up the Boot Loader:
boot=/dev/hda6
root=/dev/hda6
install=/boot/boot-menu.b

image=/vmlinuz

Hi,
Some notes of glitches in section C4 (Install debootstrap) of the
installer manual:
C.4.4.1. Mount Partitions:
example /etc/fstab should use 1 in the pass field for root
C.4.4.2. Configure Keyboard:

Hi
I just tried a netboot installation with a PowerMac G3 and found the following
inconsistencies in the manual
(http://d-i.alioth.debian.org/manual/en.powerpc/ch04s05.html)
For net booting, use the yaboot-netboot.conf. Just rename this to yaboot.conf
in the TFTP directory.
I did not found

hi,
i was lurking/reading the d-b posts, and i saw a couple of mistakes
(common errors) and some big glaring - to me - errors.
1) m68k macs DO NOT boot from mac os 8.5/8.6, only 8.1 or under;
2) the same machines cannot boot from HFS+ only HFS (not really
relevant, just to round out the info)

Hi Simon,
Can you give a blow-by-blow installation procedure for installing debian
on oldworld Macs without BootX? I've done it for woody with BootX -- I
haven't figured out how to do woody without BootX. Unfortunately, sarge
has completely eluded me so far -- with or without BootX.
Thanks!

Well, I committted the manual table changes in the
