Since I filed this bug the problem went away. It was not working for at
least a week. My system just installed a lot of updates from testing
related to X, so I think it may have been a library. My icons are now

By the way Benjamin, I've released gnuserv-3.12.7, which just contains
small updates from a more recent XEmacs and some updates to the
README. I can't remember if it is important enough to include in
Debian... :-)
