Everything works fine in TORCS until I finally start to race. Then a
bunch of dots appear on the screen and the UI becomes vey slow to
respond. In fact it's effectively useless. The frame rate according to
the display is 0.1 frames/s,
This bug is tagged moreinfo, and has been for about three months now;
without this information, I am unable to evaluate whether or not the
feature request is a sensible one, or what would be necessary to implement
it.
If you no longer need the feature, let me know and I'll close the bug;
Got more info. It's a bug in the alsa plugin. It just happens when using
dmix. Dmix allows to play several channels with a one-channel sound card
without using esound nor artsd.

FWIW, I was also hit with this bug when upgrading boost on every one of

it would be nice if the moosic command could select songs based on their
length, eg.
moosic --longer 1:00 --shorter 8:00 play
This way, songs that are too short (intros etc.) or too long would be
omitted.
