(The original title and description of this bug were inaccurate; please
disregard those. The existing pull request has been updated.)
When the libsane1 package is installed, a "scanner" group is created on
the system, which has access to
ds of non-naive situations. The best
practice for shell scripts is to actually handle errors where they
occur:
command || exit 1
This is not difficult, if that behaviour is desired.
It would be better if Debian policy was modified to be clearer about this.
Kind regards

Debian includes a "scanner" group when the operating system is
installed. When installing the sane-utils package, the newly-created
"saned" user is added to this group by default. If the sane-utils
package is purged though, the "scanner" group is deleted al

I am in the process of submitting a merge request for the Debian packaging
files. Could you kindly keep this bug open, and let's take a look at that
once I submit it?
Thank you,

- previous version 2.34 worked as expected, current version 2.36 does not
honour the --wipe option
- according to man 8 fdisk, --wipe is still an option
- my workaround was to build a VM (old Debian) and perform the work there
(successfully)
- keep up the good work!

Package: tmpreaper
Version: 1.6.16
Severity: minor
Setting RUNFROMCRON to false, (and keeping SHOWWARNING at true) I was surprised
to get a warning sent by the cron job.
It would be cleaner that no cron warning is sent if tmpreaper is not run from
cron.

Eduard, an official backport (or even an updated package in Bullseye?
not too familiar with what's required for an update) might be a good
idea?
Cheers,
David
