Is this bug still an issue? I'd just as soon close it, as it sounds
like the issue is a misunderstanding of what sg_inq should do, but I'll
leave it open for a little while in case there are any further details.

eliloalt doesn't work anymore with the new efivars module. For one
thing, the old module exposed itself through /proc/efi/vars; now it's
/sys/firmware/efi/vars. Also, the semantics for creating and deleting
variables have changed.
Given Tom Lear's helpful email, it appears this bug is not xfishtank's
after all. Unless I hear anything to the contrary in a week, I'll go
ahead and close this out.

Apparently, mod_perl2 in unstable now does not include dir_config.
When I use the latest libapache2-mod-perl2 with Apache::Reload, I see
Can't locate object method "dir_config" via package
"Apache2::RequestRec" at /usr/share/perl
The only reason I suggested an epoch is that there is supposed to be a
freeze on, and this is a fairly destabilizing API change at a
relatively late date. But if that isn't a problem, then I'll update
libhtml-mason to work correctly with the new mp2 and NMU it.

The new version removes Apache2.pm so that you will 'use
Apache2::RequestRec' instead of 'use Apache2; use
Apache::RequestRec;', and so on. So, depending on your setup, it may
be possible to delete /etc/apache2/mods-enabled/perl.conf, and change
all your code to use Apache2::foo.

Steve,
I have created an experimental 1.28 libhtml-mason-perl package for my
own use. I haven't tested that any of the examples work, and I haven't
created an equivalent mason_example.conf for Apache2, but I have
confirmed that the functionality itself does work correctly for
Apache2/mod_perl2.
