To what value is `# kopt=root=' set?
Yes with the # in front.
Probable it is /dev/sda1 and you only need to change that to
LABEL==dns1-rootfs

be multiple different root= definitions in menu.lst file.
Well as the examples above the kopt= line says you can use
kopt_kernel_version, fo example kopt_2_6_26= to set a different root
value for a kernel.

Here's a grub-common.postinst which removed it on upgrades.
Robert what do you think, is there maybe some other/better way to
archive this?
Ah it was a bit wrong because of `bash -e' and it shouldn't be removed
on hurd arch
preliminary versions of the manpages at the
official grub2 wiki [0]
But we won't include them on our own, they need to be included upstream
first.

your initial request was a man page for updage-grub2.
So here's one attached and also for update-grub, because in sid/squeeze
version it's now a simple stub for grub-mkconfig too.
Robert and Jordi does it look good to you?

Hi,
grub2 has the following in it's debian/rules:

CFLAGS += -O2

When I compile with `DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS=nostrip,noopt,debug

should `mdadm --zero-superblock'

And I clone it to memtest86, because it needs adjusted too.

Hi,
it would be nice if you could write a ChangeLog entry for this and send
your patch directly upstream to grub-de...@gnu.org, though you need to
subscribe first.
