add the CA certificates using the Settings 'SSL Preferences' dialog. However, I
found I still needed to add the CA to the Debian list too; just adding it to
KDE wasn't sufficient.

I found the discrepancy by diffing
/usr/lib/eclipse/configuration/org.eclipse.equinox.simpleconfigurator/bundles.info
and the bundles.info under .eclipse. The former was correct, the latter still
on 2.9.2.

I got bit by this as well.
I worked round it by with
# update-alternatives --remove-all java
# dpkg --configure -a
I also had some other JDK-related packages give a similar error, complaining
about something being a slave of javac. Doing a remove-all on javac and
configure fixed it.
