Hi,
My system was upgraded from Woody. At that time I failed to get
the tetex-extra package installed, I do not know why. But I have
now verified that I now can install tetex-extra without having
ptex-bin installed. I do not know how this old bug propagated
through my system.

Yes,
This is the same bug, sorry I forgot to check bug reports on the

Hi,
Thank you for maintaining Debian.
I have the following problem with tetex-extra:
Command apt-get install tetex
of ptex-bin, since it fails to install if ptex-bin is
not installed.

As that bug is fixed even in stable: Would you be so
)
finally
apt-get install tetex-extra ptex-bin
gets tetex-extra installed

# modprobe mousedev
solves this problem.
I beleive that mousedev should be loaded by default during boot.
