This is a pyface bug in branches. The bug does not exist in the
upcoming 3.0 ETS version. I've reported this to the other developers to
see if the 2.x branch can also be fixed.

This also seems like an artifact of the Intel 965 driver bug. I can't
reproduce the problem on my mac (which is what I have ATM), I can test
it on my ubuntu machines next week but am pretty sure none of them will
display the problem.
