I've slightly changed font-choosing strategy. Instead of trying only
one font (which fits best) this patched Tk tries several matches
untill success (but still fails if no usable fonts are found).
The patch is attached. If it works I'll ask upstream to review it.

You're right, it's a bug. But without a way to reproduce it it's hard
to track it.
Errr. It doesn't need to be tracked
architecture.
I suspect that it failed because of AMD64, but I can't reproduce the
failure on AMD64 using linux kernels for both 686 and amd64 (Debian
architecture is i386).
I have to ask about this in erlang mailing list.

Appears that if I load Tclx 8.4 into tclsh8.3 it loads fine but then randomly
crashes (It's always reproducible in Tkabber). The following line added to
pkgIndex.tcl doesn't allow to load Tclx into old tclsh:

I would remove --enable-64bit option from configure run in
debian/rules. I don't think we need 64-bit binaries if the default gcc
mode is 32-bit.

Please, remove erlang-base-hipe for arm architecture from testing
distribution. It is proven to fail on little-endian arm machines.
Starting from version 1:11.b.5dfsg-4 erlang-base-hipe isn't built for
arm anymore.
