There does seem to be a problem with the TiMidity decoder, though: Debian
puts timidity.cfg in /etc/timidity/timidity.cfg, and I don't think
SDL_sound looks for the config file there. I.e. if there isn't already,
there should be a
add_to_pathlist(/etc/timidity);
in Timidity_Init().
1.2.13-3 fixes this bug. (Apparently, this is the first 1.2.13 package
that isn't actually 1.2.12 in disguise.)
Which means that two of my least favorite bugs in unstable Debian
have both been fixed within the past few days. Nice!

I noticed that, too. It seems to have something to do with the code in

I've looked a little bit more at libsdl1.2_1.2.13-2.diff.gz and it
certainly does look like it patches SDL 1.2.13 down to 1.2.12.

Option XaaNoOffscreenPixmap on
That looks like a typo. The option is called XaaNoOffscreenPixmaps (note
the 's' at the end), isn't it?

I'm beginning to suspect that Debian's SDL 1.2.13 actually *is*
1.2.12. The libsdl1.2_1.2.13-2.diff.gz file, which I just retrieved from
ftp.de.debian.org contains, among other things, this:
--- libsdl1.2-1.2.13.orig/include/SDL_version.h

In my case it seems I get the error mail, not because the cache was
locked by another process, but instead because I have a few unmet
dependencies on my system.
This is, of course, entirely my own fault. It would be nice if the
error message could be a bit more informative, though.

Hi,
I haven't used the Debian ScummVM package myself, but since it depends on
the MAD, Ogg Vorbis and FLAC libraries, doesn't that mean it already
supports using MP3, Ogg Vorbis or FLAC files instead of CD audio tracks?
