I upgraded to etchnhalf and the machine started hanging on reboot. I
also tested with 2.6.24-1-686 and 2.6.25-2-686 with the same results.
Booting with reboot=b works around the problem.
Ubuntu bug
Hi,
I just found this bug, quite a while after it was submitted. In response to
the previous query, I am one of the s48 users on Debian and I definitely
prefer that the package be kept up with upstream versions, regardless of the
status Slime48 (which apparently will never be ported to newer
Actually, as it turns out the proposed solution I described is wrong. It
prevents installing security updates !! So, as of this time I am not aware
of a solution. If it exists, it is very well hidden. I consider myself a
relatively experienced Debian user (not to mention a fan :-), and yet I
Hi,
I have been having trouble with this one for a long time too and was
just planning to report it. There are several bug reports already, but

I found the bug which caused /etc/localtime to be changed from a
symlink to a copy:
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=346342
The problem which that bug addressed appears only when UTC=no and /usr
