While I was reporting the bug, the bug reporting program told me it needed
the python-vte package, which I installed, then I updated/upgraded (though
no upgrades were done) and restarted (once more) the system. It started
normally, could it be just because of python-vte (and its associated
librarie
=260&t=117063 now udisks2 is needed
and indeed installing udisks2 solves the problem.
I don't use KDE, just konsole, kwrite and k3b.
Note that udisks2 is not listed as a dependency of k3b.

I compiled the stable 3.4.7 kernel from kernel.org and that does not have

It seems every bank in Brazil fails to accept openjdk when trying to run their
security applications.
Perhaps we could look into what the problem is? An openJDK bug or bad
