Hi Ambrose,
I still can't reproduce this bug. If you didn't experience it in the
last months, I'd close this bug as not related to squid but caused by
resolver or DNS server issues.

I think it happened once or twice, but I guess it could be resolver
related. I don't know how to reproduce it.

resolving www.microsoft.com, which is a CNAME just like in your case:
