You're welcome to do so. Note though that this was SABLE version of
Jasmin, which is a somewhat modified version. I suggest if you start
packaging the clean jasmin upstream you rename the package to simply
jasmin.

PyPy's JVM backend requires Jasmin >= 2.0, so this bug is now blocking
#464577. If it would help, I would be happy to take over maintainership of
this package.

There are newer versions of Jasmin available, 2.3 being the latest. It
would be nice if the Debian package reflected this.
Among other things, the newer version does not require quotes around
