I hav the same problem and running "service slim restart" allows to log in.
The new upstream version 1.3.6 should fix the interactions with systemd. Would
it be possible to upload the new version?

I can confirm the same issue. When I switched init systems to
systemd, slim would accept username and password and then just
hang rather than starting my session. The slim.log file just says:
slim: waiting for X server to begin accepting

I have the same problems. Actually I think most of the bugs reported on this
package are related with systemd.
The new version of slim (1.3.5) seems to include support for systemd:

I wanted to give systemd a try, so I installed it and booted my kernel
with "init=/bin/systemd" ; things look ok and I soon get slim running.
The problem is that when I enter my login+pass, that doesn't work
(repeatedly). I have to go to console, and issue "servi
