i have the same problem. i'm running kernel 2.6.26-1-vserver-686.
possible workarounds that work for me (i've only tested openssh sshd in the
vserver) are :
* downgrade to -3 version
* rebuild the -4 version without the 60securecaps.dpatch
* adding SYS_CHROOT bcapability
