Yep, applying this commit solves the issue.
Previously 'gamma' from math.h was masked in order to make it available
to be defined by cubescript, and this masking was dependent on
implementation-specifics which had changed.
With this fix cubescript uses a different associated global name
'reqgamma' and thus does not need the masking.

I'll sync it with git once the NMU has gone through.
Thanks for the patch!

I don't think this is an RC bug, since keeping it in nonfree is actually
the safer option (albeit a bad one should it be deemed unnecessary).

On speaking to the upstream developer, he pointed out that sauer does
not actually transmit map cfg files, that's only something which happens
in Red Eclipse

A security issue with execution of map cfg(script) files could allow these
scripts the same r/w access to files as the user running the game client.

The fix for Red Eclipse has been committed as

I've prepared a DEP-3 patch (attached).
I intend to add this patch to the current version of Red Eclipse in

From
Extended description of the issue:
Game maps can in cube2-engine games be transmitted either from server
to client or from client to client, which includes a config file
(mapname.cfg) which is in cubescript format, this makes it possible
for an attacker to send a malign script via a new map (which

I'm not actually sure, I think packages like these normally would be
placed in contrib, since they depend on some non-free content to run at
all, right?

This will save the backtrace to the file 'backtrace.log' which might

Dear Maintainer,
It appears that egoboo-data contains some likely non-free audio,
