Duh. Never seen that one, never seen http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=349815 either. Either you got faulty RAM or something, either it's a really really well-hidden bug. Care to try valgrinding it? You'll need valgrind and sylpheed-claws compiled with debug symbols. run $ valgrin
