In the last few days, I found my gtk/gnome apps cannot display the menus
in Chinese correctly. They used to be correct before and I didn't change
anything, except I regularly update with apt-get dist-upgrade.
I can verify that these fonts exist with "xlsfonts".
Below is error message found in ".x
I just upgraded my potato kernel 2.2.18pre21 to kernel-image-2.4.5-686
and pcmcia-cs to 3.1.25-3.
Now I found my pcmcia card not working with 2.4.5 kernel but working
with older image. Inserting or ejecting the card has no consequences. At
boot time the kernel seems not able to detect the card.
I found in my ~/.gnome-errors the following warnings:
Gdk-WARNING **: Missing charsets in FontSet creation
Gdk-WARNING **: gb2312.1980-0
Gnome-Message: gnome_execute_async_with_env_fds: returning -1
What can I do about it?

我昨天剛裝上，是從ftp.gnuchina.org下載的，那裡還有gnuchina.org從哪裡下載

安裝界面已經是中文的，不過漢字顯示有點問題，後來我也試過OpenOffice
6.27，是英文版點，顯示還是有問題，字體怪怪的。Star Office報告找不到
libXrender.so庫，不過我的機器上明明有libXrender.so.1和
libXrender.so.1.0，我後來甚至做了個符號連接，還是不認。

After checking again the packages installed I realized I didn't install
packages tfm-arphic-b*. After the installation, everything is OK now. I
thought I would never need them and then I forgot that.

I found Debian's package management strategy often frustrated me.
Because I'm behind a Wingate, I don't have direct access to http or ftp.
Someone suggests set http_proxy and ftp_proxy in /etc/environment, but
that seems to be not working. In a word, I cannot find any hostname

I don't know that. Before I'm converted to GNU/Linux, I already learned
ZhengMa. I didn't try much using emacs before I tried to port Windows
ZhengMa to Emacs/XEmacs.
