Later back, some issues occored and i was told that CC was not, but a
new version was to come.
is it considered free now? the 2.5 or 1.0?

no, cc 3.0* (without non-derivates and non-commercial flavours) will be
most likely DFSG compliant. check the debian-legal archives and
