I'm in the midst of trying to install the Hurd to an Ext2 partition, and I
was wondering if the 1 GB limit to partition still applies. The installation
manual I read states that the system can't handle more than a gigabyte on
the Ext2 partition.

I was wondering if X has improved in the G1 release. I use F1 on my laptop
and I had a tough time getting it configured even with Debian Linux's config
file on the other partition. I got the ol grey screen with ps2 mouse
movement but no window manager.

As root it works perfectly.
I installed the package ssh_2.5.2p2-3_hurd-i386.deb (with all other
dependend pkg).

Please use gdb to find the setrlimit call that fails and see what its
parameters are. Also note all the setrlimit or getrlimit calls that happen
before the failing one, and show us the complete list.
