Thanks for all answers, this is my report.

Dear Maintainer,
Since I upgraded to KDE5, there is another volume applet in the system tray.
I don't know where it is coming from, it just says "Plasma" when I try
xwininfo.
I don't want to use the other one, because kmix is so much better
I am also having this issue after performing all available Stretch updates on

that it might be helpful. Looking through the Xorg.0.log file I see that the

Just a few hours from now... but maybe someone else already knows.

Agreed, I use advanced computers which simply would not work in stable,
sometimes not even in testing, kernel too old.
I had to install more advanced kernel from siduction, until I could get
a suitable one in testing.
So for me, to use testing is simply a matter of having software that

I'm assuming you have either testing or unstable.
Please update your systems to current testing so as to get libqt5gui5 >=
5.5.1, then please try again.

I unheld libqt5x11extras5, did a full dist-upgrade, rebooted, lightdm

Same for sddm.
Somehow some init script is set to lightdm and it will revert to that,
no matter what I set as default dm.
