The Secret Feature pointed out one answer, but as noted, it doesn't seem to
save the setting (not even when opening new Konq windows). A more permanent
solution would be preferrable. Any ideas??

However, I can still print! Just pressing print, it prints, I suppose, without
specifying a printer, ergo uses the default printer. I've only printed from a
few KDE apps, like Konqueror...

I get this problem when I change resolutions. The KDE panel seems to get lost,
and ends up hovering above the bottom, rather than on the bottom of the screen.
I don't know if it's a known bug or not...

a delay, which is adjustable.
I myself have a Real soundcard, though (SB Live) which can handle multiple
channels, so different apps can grab hold of /dev/dsp at the same time.
