Unless you know what you are doing, I suggest compiling the kernel without
initramdisk.
Background: You need it mostly if mounting the root
Just installed 2.6.30 from unstable and copying from
DVD works, although is very slow.
I think bug can be closed - but #485704 still applies
(copying files from DVD takes about 25 minutes under 2.6.30,
instead of about 6 which it took under 2.6.23).
