Hi, FYI, I had the same problem when upgrading my box today. Looking inside /etc/modprobe.d/, I saw that arch-aliases.conf was a symlink to "arch/i386", which didn't exist. Since I never created that file, I guess that there's a problem with some other package that left that dangling symlink there
