I did this same thing to setup a Debian mirror at work. If you look carefully, all you have to do is delete the existings Packages.gz files (since they are for a single CD) and mv Packages-cd.gz Packages.gz (do the same for the uncompressed packages). It's a lot easier if you do this with a find
