I would need to read everything.
Using a specific header would just be fine although it still means we have to
get all the volume of this list (and pay for downloading it) and that could
be avoided using a list. The fact that you are not "so" oppossed to the list
leads me to believe that cos
27;t get implemented/will be
delayed. I can't possibly read every single change to policy and this is
already a problem. If the dicussions affect my packages in more fundamental
manners, policy will start to be ignored altogether.

In any case, having an automatically created rules file is probably the most
powerful aproach anyway. I'd definitively go for that if workable.

all the information. Getting rid of one single name in that field would
probably force people to use the packages.debian.org address which is better.

the files to customize them for my setup and would loath to have to redo

could someone explain to me again why only source updates can close bug
reports? Does this mean that bugs closed with non-source uploads have to
closed "by hand" or that they can't be closed at all?

way with two virtual package names works.
I think Andreas is right here. It'll be debian users that will suffer. I
don't feel I know enough of the packages and kde to be sure which is the best
technical solution but I do think we should work something out. And this
regardless of whether we like kde or not. It's in the interest of our users
and of not being called a "broken" distribution.
That's at least how I feel about it.
