The tools I use are in pilot-link. The gui I use is jpilot. But in case
your cradle is usb, I suggest u make your own packages with the lates
sources.

Xinerama is not a package but an Xserver extension. Search the archive

got a set of debian 3.0r1 CD's and tried using SMS to change the boot order
