octave broken after latest unstable upgrade

After the latest unstable upgrade, I get the following when starting octave: octave: error while loading shared libraries: octave: undefined symbol: __dso_handle I thought this might have to do with libstdc++, so I downgraded to libstdc++-2.10 from testing, with no luck. Any ideas? --Peter

I've successfully done this in the past. XFree86 should work fine if you tell it to use a serial mouse. You may have to construct a special adapter for the serial port--IIRC, it's slightly different from a regular RS422-232 adapter. http://www.msn.fullfeed.com/~chuck/smd.html has some information

I have been unable to compile from sources any program which requires libdb on my system (Woody). Since libdb is required by gnome, this is a lot of programs. I have tried reinstalling libdb2, libdb2-dev, and libc6 all to no avail. There is no libdb.so* anywhere on my system. Where can I get one?
