Hello,
Please pardon these simple questions? I'm trying to get my sparc to be
able to print.
How does one get a /dev/lp device in debian sparc for slink?
Does /dev/lpn device get installed when you install one of the lpr
packages?
Is it okay to make a /dev/lpn device via MAKEDEV lp? It seems
Hello,
We've just got it working. It used to hang when starting the second CPU...
After some narrowing of the problematic part of sun4d_callin, in turned
out to be a problem in calibrate_delay()...
Something really strange is happening there. The problematic function is

Hello,
as you may probably know already, I've made an update of slink for Debian
2.1 (i386 only for now), and now I'd like to have non-i386 versions of
it too.
I was about to begin the alpha version on faure.d.o, but realised soon I

We do realize that the current modutils now in the sparc/potato
distribution is broken. The problem is the new modutils does not allow for
compilation for sparc that allows it to work for sun4[cdm]'s and sun4u's
at the same time.
We are working on a fix, in the meantime, I suggest putting it on ho
Dear all,
Thanks for all of your comments - I struggled on for a little longer
but couldn't seem to make it perform any differently however I
tried. I suspect that it's simply not going to work.
I managed to netboot it fine, mounted an NFS partition and did
the rest from there. That's fine while
