The XSunMono server from Potato does end up with a segmentation fault
here, and now I'm looking for alternatives.
BTW, the X server that came with Slink runs very well- so I suppose this
is a bug in the newer versions of XS

the XSunMono x server doesn't work correctly here...
When I start it, I first get the blank white screen and then a horribly
squeezed Debian logo..but nothing more. If I then switch back to the text
console there is a "segmentation fault" message.

I'm trying to install Debian on a Sparc clone... It runs kernel 2.2.12
(compiled it myself). A Sun Lance ethernet card is successfully detected upon
kernel startup.
However, initialisation scripts give me errors, especially the "network ones".

apllied the Sparc patches, booting works as usual...
And yes, I've gunzipped the kernel image and converted it to a.out ...
The client is a Sparc clone with 64 megs RAM installed.

- a patch for swapping over NFS exists only for this version
- the bwtwo grafics adaptor is supported correctly

I recently tried to install Debian "slink" (2.1) on a Sun Sparcstation SLC.
The machine should boot up from the net - so it has NO disks attached and
NO floppy drives.
The tftpboot-image just boots up fine! (But I suggest to include a hint to
this mechanism in the official installation doc
