Dear Sebastian,
On my Ultra 30 I've used HappyMeal with 2.4.27 since August: no problems.
In fact, I compiled the 2.4.27 and constructed HappyMeal *inside* the
Kernel. Always I compiled the kernel I put it into the kernel, so as a
module I d'ont know anything (sorry).

I've been using 2.4.27 since August: no problems until now, except by
the fact that I can't reach console from X typing "Ctrl+Alt+Fx"

Good to know that in 2.4.28 X is not working. Sometimes the better is to
wait! If I were you I would come back to 2.4.26 or 2.4.27.

I'm trying to compile kernel 2.4.24, but the "make" command seems to do
not works properly. My tries were:
FIRST TRY: command ...# make menuconfig

make -C scripts/lxdialog all

So, try upgrading your kernel (after booting from CD-ROM or the net) and see
if that helps. Other than that I guess your only option is re-installing.

Doc,
Just do "apt-cache search kernel-image" at the command line. Soon it
will appear a list of available kernel-images pre-compiled. Choose that
best fit to your system and do, as a root, "apt-get install . However, see if there is the image you are looking
for.

When you upgrade to woody you need to take some care. First of all,
upgrade your souces-list in /etc/apt: if you installed by CD, changing
to http souces. After that, BEFORE you try an upgrade, atualize libc6
using dpkg -i libc6 (after the download of the package, of course). Take

You must install egcs64 in order to be able to compile the kernel in Ultra's.

Is there a reason for this?

recompiled it. To do your upgrade it is interesting to have a list of
