It doesn't work with the stock CDs. There is a specially-built one --
see URL:http://wiki.debian.net/?SparcInstallationNotes -- but it's
easiest to do a net boot if you can set up a rarp and tftp server.
You can also install from the Woody CD and upgrade from that.

Window maker is a window manager, not a desktop system like gnome or
KDE. I bet you can use all your gnome and kde applications under it
(all you have installed that is).

Problem solved! For those of you who might run into this in
future - It was the adapter converting the Monitors Sun video
connector to a standard VGA connection. If you use a normal vga cable
to the monitors other input it works fine. Must have been some weird
timing issue.

I had the same problems on my Ultra 2. I ended up creating
/dev/sunmouse and making /dev/mouse symlink to it. The /sbin/MAKEDEV
is supposed to create the device...Here is what I did:
rm sunmouse
mknod sunmouse c 10 6 #(or was it 6 10? check MAKEDEV to be sure)
chown root:root sunmouse
chmod
