I would suggest to include ACE into the debian distribution. ACE and TAO
implement platform independant interprocess and intercomputer
communication. TAO is a CORBA impementation.
They have great API to multithreding, shared libs, etc. too

Debian as a distribution has nothing to do with multiprocessor
support. Ther Linux kernel is what will determine this.
The default kernel that ships with the Debian distribution does not
have SMP support compiled in by default. You will have to remake your
kernel with the SMP=1 line o

This problem was linked to the Netwrok and SCSI cards sharing the same
IRQ. This was on a Gateway G6-200
The solution to this problem is to juggle the PCI cards until it works!

It would be very cool if one could search not only by package name but for

This should probably be a bug. It was either the emacs or the gpm
maintainer who thinks that this file is not needed, and his handiwork
managed to clobber the version I had on my machine, that was working before.
When I contacted him by email, he hadn't a clue. I also want to find a new
copy.
