start X, the IceWM window manager starts ok, but no GNOME program starts (I

the solution is downgrade to perl 5.004. 5.005 has been removed from
slink, and will probably not make it into the next stable release.

We're using NIS with hamm and slink with no problems. Our NIS server runs on
Netware (don't blame me - that's corporate MIS for you!). We did have
problems at one stage which meant we had to set the ypserver's address in

thats very nice of them, but how many people are going to be prepared to wait

2 Linux boxs both with Debian, one slink the other hamm.
Both have network NE2K cards and both are seen by Linux.
