Greetings,
Am trying to configure linux on a Dell Pentium box with a IDE CDROM
drive attached to the 2nd controller. Machine boots up fine from hard
drive which is /dev/hda1, but I can't seem to find the cdrom drive.
Any help would be much appreciated.

Sorry to follow up my own post, but I got the answer from the exim list.
Install a new version of
/dev/hda is pure linux
/dev/hdc is pure windows
/dev/hdb is a cdrom
Been using it for a year. Next time please use Subject:'s that catch the eye.
I skipped the catch-22 discussion. 1000 e-mails a day makes one read

Hi.
Can't seem to find a way to change the
configuration of my xterms in fvwm2. I
would like to change the default scrollbars
from the hatched display to a more solid
type. I've been through a lot of
documentation and I've either missed it or
haven't found the right info yet.

After a previous upgrade to slink, I notice that /var/log/utmp is now
missing. Can I just touch it to create it? What should be its file
permissions? who and w are showing strage results probably because utmp
is missing.

Is it possible to configure smail to support user suffixes on

Somewhere in this thread I saw that this might be possible on an
unpartitioned drive. Would it (dd) work on unpartitioned space on your
existing drive. I read "SOMEWHERE" about lossless partitioning.
apparently you can partition your drive without losing your data.
