Hi all,
Recently I all my hypens(-) in my man pages have started to show up as

In upgrading to potato, I somehow managed to fsck up exim. I can now send &
receive mail locally, and to receive Internet mail, but can't send outgoing

Hello,
While searching the net to dig deeper into my recently posted
PCMCIA-SCSI -> JVC XR-W2040 problem, it appears that the
/dev/sr0 device can't be "made" using MAKEDEV sr0 from /dev...
Is there a workaround for this? I read that the "normal" methods
of configuring SCSI CDROMs do not work fo

I've been getting a strange scenario lately with trying to upgrade to
potato... after I did a `apt-get update', I noticed that `apt-get -s upgrade'
noted that slang1 was being kept back. Curious as to why slang1 was being kept
back, I did a `apt-get -s install slang1' and apt-get responded that th
Hi,
I have upgrade my system from slink to potato, but during
installation of `tetex-base' package I get the following message

Unpacking replacement tetex-base ...
Setting up tetex-base (1.0-4) ...

Sorry that I didn't follow up early. Left for a while. Any way, the ppplog
shows that some times I am able to connect, some times I am not. This makes
me believe that the problem is with the time ppp waits before hanging up. How
can I change these parameters? Also, what is the best browser availabl

Hello,
While waiting for my post to show up, I digged a little
deeper, and found that irq3 was not being excluded by
PCMCIA. I excluded IRQ3 and IRQ5 (which it
picked up sometimes, but states it is wrong) and it now
uses IRQ9 like it does when running windows 95.
The dmesg output is included be
