I have proftpd running and anonymous ftp too and I wanted the anonymous ftp
directory to show files residing in another directory so instead of just
copying or moving files to the directory I want to show I just create a
softlink ln -s /foo/bar /false/foo/barthe problem is the files are

I have a new mainboard with built-in AC97 sound. I installed the kernel
module ac97_codec. That hasn't gotten me to where I need to be, though.
What do I need to do to get this sound working? I know pnpdump is not
the way to go, because it detects nothing.

on unstable. It told me I had 54 packages to upgrade. The problem is that only
half actually downloaded and upgraded from http.us.debian.org. The rest 404'd

I try to connect to my ISP using pppconfig. I put all corect settings
(I tested in Windows and worked OK). Using plog I saw that the
connection is established but after few seconds the modem hangs. The
last message in plog is:
