prevented notification of updates that might have fixed the problem. How do I
get rid of these hold flags? (They persist and also foul up Kpackage's UI.)

This installed Canna (which correctly starts up as a service on boot).
Also, Kinput (kinput2-canna-wnn) and Freewnn-jserver (not sure what this
does) were installed.

I now build complete systems easily for that price. Anyway.
I just lugged it acrosss the continent and plugged it into Sarge.
Cups knows it.
But it always overflows its margins.
